Farewell message to coworkers
A good farewell message to coworkers thanks people for something specific, says where you are going if you want to share it, and leaves a way to stay in touch. Keep it warm and short, and leave out any complaints. Below are examples for your own goodbye email, for your manager and close colleagues, and for when a coworker leaves or retires.

Frequently asked questions
- When should I send a farewell email?
- On your last day or the day before, and only after your manager has told the team you're leaving. Sending it in the morning gives people time to reply.
- Should I say where I'm going next?
- Only if you want to and it is public. A line like "I'm joining [Company] as [role]" is fine. It is equally fine to say nothing about it.
- Should I include my personal email?
- If you want to keep in touch, yes. A personal email or LinkedIn link is standard. Never include a phone number in a group email.
